This Privacy Policy describes how Side-Pilot (the “Service”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Side-Pilot macOS application and the website at side-pilot.com. Side-Pilot is operated by an individual developer based in China.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to operate the Service:

• Email address — provided by you at purchase, used to deliver the license key and provide support.
• License key (activation code) — used to verify your purchase and to bind the license to your device.
• Device identifier — a non-personal hardware-derived identifier generated locally by the application, used to enforce per-device license limits and prevent abuse.

We do not collect: telephone numbers, physical addresses, government IDs, biometrics, browsing history, files from your computer, screen recordings, keystrokes, location data, or any third-party analytics.

2. How We Use Information

• To deliver and activate the license you purchased.
• To respond to support requests you send to [email protected].
• To detect and prevent abuse of the licensing system.

We do not sell or rent your information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

To operate the Service we rely on a small number of trusted third parties; these companies process information only on our behalf and under their own privacy policies:

• Creem / Paddle — payment processing and license issuance. They handle your payment details directly; we do not store credit-card numbers.
• Hosting providers (Railway, GitHub) — host our license verification API and downloadable artifacts.

4. Data Retention

We retain your email address and license records for as long as your license is active and for a reasonable period afterwards in order to handle refund requests, renewals, and recurring support. You may request deletion of your account information at any time by emailing [email protected].

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your personal information (subject to lawful retention obligations).
• Withdraw consent for future processing.

6. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Security

We use HTTPS for all data transmission. License records are stored on secured servers with access restricted to the operator. While we apply reasonable safeguards, no system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own discretion.

8. International Transfers

Side-Pilot is operated from China. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence, including China and any region where our third-party providers operate.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
